A taste of Italy in Abu Dhabi
Our Cuisine
Expertly curated by Cafe Milano's Corporate Chef Franco Sangiacomo, our cuisine celebrates the beauty and variety of Italian flavors. Chef Sangiacomo's culinary style could be defined as simple yet emotional, using novel techniques without renouncing the Italian classics he learned from his grandmother. He is committed to creating a contemporary cuisine respectful of letting the ingredients speak for themselves.
Cafe Milano is home away from home
Contemporary, Effortlessly chic
Located in Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island, Cafe Milano is the sister restaurant to the award-winning Italian power-hub from Washington, DC. Cafe Milano offers authentic Italian cuisine in a setting reminiscent of a stylish boutique.
Terrazza
Light breeze, water view.... Embrace la Dolce Vita
Our terrace’s allure will remind you a glamorous vacation in Portofino, in Sardinia, in Amalfi Coast or in Capri. It is the unique formula of “good living” Italian style.
Franco Nuschese
The History of Cafe Milano
Art and Fashion
The founder
The place to see and to be seen
Franco Nuschese was born in Minori, a small town in the province of Salerno, on the enchanting Amalfi Coast. Nuschese carried the warmth of the ‘Italian way of hospitality’ all over the world for many years and practiced it in Europe and then in the United States; from Italy to London, Las Vegas, Washington DC, and finally to the UAE. Today Cafe Milano reflects all of Nuschese’s lifelong ideals in hospitality. “I often think about it. It seems to me that it is impossible to give an explanation to the magic that you create at some point. It is a real alchemy given by place, by the people, by the situation. We have bought all our energy, our expertise and our passion to create the same magic in Abu Dhabi.”
Cafe Milano Abu Dhabi is the first location to open after the U.S. flagship. On the international circuit, the name Cafe Milano conjures a concept that is much more than a mere reference to good food, but truly a vision that includes the best of the Italian way of life. Cafe Milano opened in Washington DC in November 1992, matched with passion for authentic traditions in an entertaining ambiance, consistent with careful planning that has brought 32 years of success. Today it is the most glamorous sought after stage in the city, a power center for Heads of state, diplomats, politicians, journalists, broadcasters, business executives, lobbyists and entertainers.
The décor.
Our fashion collection.
Adorning the walls is a composition of “fashion centric” bespoke art, black and white images of Milan’s street fashion and one of a kind framed vintage scarves, creating a strong connection to the city’s influence as the capital of design and fashion.
The dhow
A fascinating journey through cultures
The focal point of the restaurant lies at the center of the dining room; where large boat shaped sculptures composed of intertwining metal rods hang from the center of the vaulted ceiling. The sculptures were commissioned to renowned artist Nathan Slate Joseph, featured by Biennale di Venezia. This masterpiece conjures images of the ancient Middle Eastern dhow boat, and reinforce the connection between cities, ports and cultures.
